No. 1 Baylor perfect in Big 12, beats West Virginia 63-57

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Lauren Cox had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead top-ranked Baylor to a 63-57 victory over West Virginia on Monday night, capping a perfect Big 12 season for the Lady Bears.

Baylor (28-1, 18-0 Big 12) never trailed in winning its 20th straight game entering the conference tournament. The Lady Bears went unbeaten in the Big 12 for the fourth time, joining teams from 2012, 2013 and last year.

Juicy Landrum added 13 points and Chloe Jackson scored 10 for Baylor, which didn’t secure the win until time ran out on the cold-shooting Mountaineers (20-9, 11-7).

Naomi Davenport led West Virginia with 20 points. Tynice Martin added 18 and Kari Niblack scored 13.

Baylor top scorer and rebounder Kalani Brown got into early foul trouble and was limited to eight points.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Christyn Williams scored eight of her 10 points in the fourth quarter and UConn finished its last regular-season game on a 9-0 run.

The Huskies (28-2, 16-0), playing without injured star Katie Lou Samuelson, completed another perfect run through the American Athletic Conference, improving to 102-0 during the regular season against league opponents since the AAC was formed six seasons ago.

Samuelson did not play after hurting her back during last Saturday’s 83-61 home victory over Houston.

Crystal Dangerfield scored 17 points and Napheesa Collier added 16 for UConn. Megan Walker finished with 10, while Williams scored eight of the Huskies’ first 10 points in the final quarter.

Enna Pehadzic scored 15 for USF (16-14, 7-9), which did not score in the last 6:04.
