We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Lagos

Main Duties And Responsibilities

Project Management Dimension:

  • Leading the production of schematic design, design development and construction documents
  • Managing sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors; monitoring and controlling performance;
  • Periodic evaluation of the staff who will be reporting to you using agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on determined Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
  • Complying with operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements;
  • Meeting construction budget by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances, implementing corrective actions, providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information;
  • Accomplishing construction project results by defining project purpose and scope, calculating resources required, establishing standards and protocols, allocating resources, scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors, evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions, resolving design problems, evaluating and implementing change orders;
  • Approving construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases, obtaining approvals from buyers;
  • Preventing fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes;
  • Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing health and safety standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations;
  • Updating job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations;
  • Enhancing the organizations reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments;
  • Managing project from start to finish;
  • Resolving field construction problems in coordination with engineering staff, third parties, and other agencies as necessary;
  • Calling for and attending progress meetings, developing status reports, and delivering presentations as required;
  • Recommending policy and procedure improvements;
  • Assisting in negotiating with contractors regarding changes to design, construction work scope, and schedules;
  • Developing and implementing a quality audit program, monitoring contractor corrective actions, and ensuring a quality project which conforms to plans and specifications;
  • All recommendations are subject to the approval of the CEO, Ultimus Development Group.

Civil Engineering Dimension:

  • Developing integrated structural designs of buildings, renovations, or restorations from conception through to completion and performing supporting calculations for the planned work;
  • Developing technical procedures and contributes to the development of standards, specifications, construction documents, and guidelines;
  • Prepare technical specifications for structural materials;
  • Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems;
  • Meeting with construction professionals and clients to discuss feasibility of designs;
  • Working with computer-aided design software to create blueprints and images and Carrying out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications; and
  • Conduct on site investigations and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).

Operational Dimension:

  • Collaborating with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and operational strategy;
  • Translating strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning;
  • Planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets for Ultimus Construction;
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and its value proposition and advising the company on the next line of action;
  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement;
  • Effectively manage labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for Ultimus Construction;
  • Assist in developing actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO;
  • Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves targets relative to growth and profitability;
  • Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting;
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders;
  • Positively represent the company at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor;
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance team;
  • Assist HR with recruiting when necessary;
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations; and
  • Occasional travel is required
  • All recommendations are subject to the approval of the Vice President.


  • Civil Engineering degree is required
  • Licensed by recognised Engineering Regulatory bodies in Nigeria such as:
    • Council for The Regulation Of Engineering In Nigeria (COREN) and
    • The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
  • Minimum 10 yearsТ experience
  • Proficient in standard industry software
  • Legally able to work in the Federal Republic of Nigeria
