A look at the Bucks’ contract situations heading into offseason

The NBA is in a bit of limbo – the season is over but there’s no dates yet for the start of the 2020-21 season.

The salary cap is also an unknown – it was projected to rise to perhaps $116 million but that was pre-pandemic. Now it might remain at around $109 million.

As things stand for the Milwaukee Bucks, they have eight players with guaranteed contracts currently on the roster (although that could jump to 10 rather quickly). There’s also some decisions to be made on bringing back some free agents and perhaps letting others go. There also could be another player added via the draft, which will be held Nov. 18 (the Bucks own just one pick, No. 24 overall).

When considering Milwaukee’s contracts and salary-cap this offseason, keep in mind the Bucks have $3,169,348 for Jon Leuer and $1,865,546 in dead-cap money for 2020-21.

The offseason will also be dominated by talk of Giannis Antetokounmpo and his potential contract extension, but that’s for another day.
