Antetokounmpo, Bucks continuing offensive barrage

No matter how you slice it, back-to-back NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are a force to be reckoned with on offense.

Having scored 120+ points in three of its past six games, Milwaukee leads the league in points per game (120.1), ranks first in offensive rating (119.0) and second in team net rating (+8.9).

Since 2018-19, Milwaukee has racked up 55 games of 125+ points, by far the most in the NBA. The Los Angeles Clippers are second with 42, and Houston is in third with 40.

The Bucks are 47-8 in those 55 contests.

Of course, Antetokounmpo is leading the charge in Milwaukee. With nine double-doubles in 15 games and averages of 27.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists per contest, Antetokounmpo has posted a +107 plus/minus, fifth-best in the Eastern Conference.

But one other player on his team has an even better plus/minus.

Donte DiVincenzo, the 2018 first-round pick who has stepped into a starting role with Milwaukee this season, owns a plus/minus of +111. Only Philadelphia’s Tobias Harris (+132) and Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant (+129) have a better mark in the East.

The Bucks’s offensive prowess will be tested again Wednesday night when they battle Toronto, the same team which bounced them in six games in the 2018-19 Eastern Conference finals. However, Milwaukee has owned the Raptors in the regular season. The Bucks have won five of the seven regular-season meetings between the two teams since 2018-19.

Toronto counters with a great offense and one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. The Raptors rank second in the league with an average of 15.9 3-point makes per game, led by Fred VanVleet (3.2 3PM per game)

VanVleet can launch from anywhere on the court. He ranks third in the NBA with 47 makes from at least 25 feet away from the basket, which is at least three feet behind the perimeter. OG Anunoby, who rose to the national spotlight when he hit a game-winning shot in Game 3 of the 2019-20 Eastern Conference semifinals, ranks fourth in the league with 40 catch-and-shoot 3s.

The Milwaukee-Toronto game will be televised on FOX Sports Wisconsin, with Bucks Live beginning at 6 p.m.
