Badgers rise three spots to No. 6 in AP top-25 poll

Winners of five straight games, the Wisconsin Badgers (8-1, 2-0) moved up three spots to No. 6 in the Associated Press men’s basketball top-25 poll, released Monday.

Wisconsin opened its Big Ten schedule by defeating Nebraska and 12th-ranked Michigan State last week.

The Badgers are now the top-ranked team in the conference, as Iowa fell to No. 10 in the rankings after losing to No. 21 Minnesota on Friday.

There are now nine Big Ten teams in the AP top-25 poll — No. 6 Wisconsin, No. 10 Iowa, No. 14 Rutgers, No. 15 Illinois, No. 16 Michigan, No. 17 Michigan State, No. 19 Northwestern, No. 21 Minnesota and No. 25 Ohio State.

The Badgers return to the court Monday night to battle Maryland (5-3, 0-2).
