Bailey reinstated off injured list, will start for Twins on Tuesday
Homer Bailey will make his return to the mound as the starting pitcher Tuesday night against Detroit.
The Minnesota Twins reinstated Bailey from the 45-day injured list on Tuesday. To make room on the roster, Minnesota optioned right-hander Sean Poppen to the alternate training site in St. Paul.

Bailey had missed the Twins’ last 51 games while being shelved on the injured list with right biceps tendinitis. The 34-year-old, who signed a one-year deal with Minnesota in the offseason, has made just one start for the Twins this season. Pitching against St. Louis on July 28, Bailey allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks in five innings of work.
He was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 2 and transferred to the 45-day injured list Aug. 22.
Poppen has made six appearances for the Twins and has registered a 4.70 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
