Brewers place Ryan Braun on 10-day IL with infected finger

The Milwaukee Brewers placed outfielder Ryan Braun on the 10-day injured list due to an infected right index finger, the team announced Sunday.

Milwaukee hasn’t made a corresponding move to fill Braun’s spot on the roster. The move is retroactive to July 30.

In four games (three starts) this season, Braun is batting .231 (3 for 13) with one double and two RBI. All three of his starts have come as a designated hitter.

Braun’s absence means Milwaukee will be without two veteran outfielders when it returns to to the field Monday against Chicago. Lorenzo Cain announced he was opting out of the 2020 season on Saturday.
