Brewers’ Yelich looks primed to return to form in 2021

Yeli looked like his old self this spring after a down 2020 campaign. In 14 games he batted .393, smashed three homers and accounted for eight RBI. His offseason work with Brewers’ hitting coach Andy Haines seemed to do the trick. Yelich even showcased his speed around the bags in Milwaukee’s final exhibition game.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Bucks small forward (↔️ EVEN) 

The older brother of back-to-back MVP, Giannis, lit up the floor on Saturday with his younger brother resting on the bench, scoring 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting while adding 10 rebounds and five assists. But Thanasis’ role dwindled once little bro returned to the Bucks’ starting lineup. He scored just seven points in 18 minutes on Monday versus the Los Angeles Clippers.

Khris Middleton, Bucks small forward (⬇️ DOWN) 

Middleton went for 23, 25 and 27 points in three games from March 20-24, but has experienced some shooting woes since Friday’s 19-point outing against Boston. He did not dress against the Knicks and tallied just 15 points in 35 minutes against the Clippers, going 7-of-15 from the field.

Shaka Smart, new Golden Eagles head coach (⬆️ UP) 

It’s a new era for Marquette and there’s plenty of reason to be excited. Smart returns to his home state, and better yet takes over at a school that places a premium on basketball. Although Smart’s six-year tenure at Texas fell short of expectations, his leadership and previous tournament success at VCU should set the Golden Eagles’ program up for success.

Marcedes Lewis, Packers tight end (⬆️ UP)

Lewis officially re-signed with Green Bay on Tuesday, solidifying his return for a fourth season with the Packers. The 15-year veteran has caught 25 passes for 263 yards over the last two seasons. He scored three touchdowns in 2020, playing second fiddle at tight end behind Robert Tonyan. There’s no question Lewis’ locker room presence and blocking abilities will be a key asset for Green Bay in 2021.
