Cardinals acquire 24-year-old catcher from Mets
Yadier Molina need not worry, of course, but the St. Louis Cardinals added another catcher to their major league roster Friday.
The Cardinals obtained catcher Ali Sánchez from the New York Mets in exchange for cash considerations.
The Mets signed Sánchez, 24, in July 2013. The Venezuelan native toiled in the minor leagues from 2014 through last season, when he made his major league debut. He had one single in nine at-bats while appearing in five games.
