Cardinals announce revised schedule of 2021 spring training games

A revised St. Louis Cardinals spring training schedule will include fewer games, fewer opponents and no split-squad games.

The Cardinals will play 24 games, down from the originally scheduled 30, and will face only four teams — the Marlins, Nationals, New York Mets and Houston Astros, facing each team six times (three home, three away).

The short list of opponents reflects Major League Baseball’s recently announced health and safety protocols. All five teams are on Florida’s East Coast, thereby requiring less travel.

The Cardinals’ Grapefruit League schedule opens Feb. 28 and closes March 29. They will play 15 games at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Florida, including three as the away team against the Marlins, with whom they share the stadium.
