Cam Newton and Mac Jones are both getting reps in the New England Patriots’ OTAs. The rookie is already turning heads, not because he’s wearing No. 50 but wide receiver Kendrick Bourne said that Jones quote ‘has a swag to him that I did not know he had at first.’ Coach Bill Belichick says Jones has quote ‘dug into the playbook.’ He also had compliments for Newton saying quote ‘he has been a consistent participant, continues to give us the usual leadership and energy that he brings to the field and to the workouts and to practice.’ Emmanuel Acho explains why Belichick’s heavy investment in Jones will slide him in New England as the starting quarterback.
