Green Bay Packers predictions: Week 12 at Bears

Even with an unfortunate loss to Indianapolis in overtime last week, the Green Bay Packers enter Week 12 in a favorable position – a 7-3 record and a two-game lead in the NFC North.

However, things can quickly change if the Packers lose to Chicago on Sunday night. Can Green Bay continue its dominance in the division?

Here’s this week’s Packers predictions from around the web:

Barry Wilner of the Associated Press: Packers 25, Bears 10. “We thought about this as our Best Bet, too, but this rivalry is bitter and usually means close games. Or not.”

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times: Packers 28, Bears 17. “The Bears are horrible on offense and can’t keep pace with Aaron Rodgers. The Packers are feeling the heat after an overtime loss to Indianapolis. They’re going to have to step up, and will.”

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports: Packers 27, Bears 14. “The Bears are coming off the bye, but their offense is a mess. You need that to compete with the Packers. Aaron Rodgers will get his against the Bears defense, and Chicago will not keep up. Packers get back on track.”

Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com: Packers 23, Bears 17. “Aaron Rodgers is unlikely to see as many wide-open receivers as usual against this sound, well-coached Bears defense. Aaron Jones’ mini-slump may even continue. But there’s little reason to think the Bears’ skill position players — including the quarterback — will be put in a position to make any of it matter. I’m thankful this is Chicago’s last prime-time game.”

Will Brinson of CBS Sports: Packers 28, Bears 14. “A month ago, the Bears were the top seed in the NFC. Now? They’re reeling, trying to figure out a path to the playoffs. It can still happen, obviously. But things are dire for Chicago right now. It would be really easy to take them here, because of the situation. But it’s Thanksgiving weekend, Akiem Hicks is likely out, the Packers and Aaron Rodgers dominate the Bears in general and it’s a chance for smoking these guys. I don’t love it but I’ll take Rodgers laying an enormous number. I don’t see Chicago scoring so I like the under the best. Plus Davante Adams scoring a touchdown at whatever number you can find.

John Breech of CBS Sports: Packers 24, Bears 17.

The Miami Herald’s Greg Cote: Packers 20, Bears 17. “Nick Foles? Mitchell Trubisky? Bears were unsure late in week who’d start at QB in this Sunday night division fight, but it hardly matters. Return of top RB David Montgomery from a concussion is Chitown’s best hope to keep the ball out of Aaron Rodgers hands. Coming off a bye, expect a rested Bears defense to keep score low and close. We’re picking a lot of underdogs to cover this week, and here’s one more.”

Vinnie Iyer of the Sporting News: Packers 27, Bears 20. “The Packers know they will have red-hot Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, trying to make up for the Colts loss by finishing better. The Bears don’t know if they will have Nick Foles, MItchell Trubisky or Tyler Bray at quarterback. Coming off a bye helps for a strong Chicago defense, but the offense will cost the distant second-place team in the NFC North another prime-time division game.”

Jonathan Jones of CBSSports.com: Packers

Bill Bender of the Sporting News: Packers 26, Bears 19. “Division rivals meet, and the Packers can bounce back after an overtime loss at Indianapolis. The Bears’ offensive struggles are well-documented, and Green Bay will bounce back with another big game from Aaron Rodgers. The last five meetings between these teams have been decided by eight points or less.”

Jordan Dajani of CBSSports.com: Packers 31, Bears 26.

Sportsnaut’s Vincent Frank: Packers 24, Bears 10. “This seven-point spread doesn’t make much sense. Despite struggles this season, the injury Nick Foles suffered back in Week 10 will have wide-ranging ramifications for the Bears. He might not be a go here, meaning Tyler Bray could start against the Packers. Now in his seventh season, Bray has attempted a total of six career passes. As for the Bears as a whole, they have scored the second-fewest points in the NFL despite boasting a 5-5 record. The team has also lost four consecutive. This is going to be a run away win for MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers and his Packers on “Sunday Night Football.” Take that to the bank.”
