Mizzou to open hoops season Nov. 25

Cuonzo Martin’s Missouri Tigers plan to begin play just before Thanksgiving and commence Southeastern Conference action just before the new year, assuming the coronavirus pandemic doesn’t do to the start of basketball season what it did to last season’s conclusion.

The team released its tentative 2020-21 schedule Friday, months later than usual as the college basketball world prepares for a season amid a pandemic that has wreaked havoc on every sport this year. The 2019-20 season came to an abrupt halt in March when conference tournaments and the NCAA Tournament were canceled.

Mizzou is scheduled to open non-conference play Nov. 25 at home against Oral Roberts, launching a non-conference schedule that could grow or be amended. The SEC slate, which begins Dec. 30, is considered set.

No game times are attached to the schedule released Friday.
