Pacers hire NBA executive as vice president of basketball operations

Ted Wu, who honed his knowledge of player contracts and the Collective Bargaining Agreement at the NBA, has joined the Indiana Pacers as vice president of basketball operations.

Wu spent the last eight years with the league office in New York City. He was a member of the Salary Cap Management team, overseeing player transactions and the administration of the league’s player contract system and advising all 30 teams on strategy related to contract signings, trades, and the salary cap and tax system. Wu was a key contributor in 2017 CBA negotiations with the National Basketball Players Association.

He also supported league basketball operations at events such as the NBA All-Star Game and Draft Combine and helped administer the league’s escrow system and year-end audits.
