Packers put WR Equanimeous St. Brown on injured reserve

Equanimeous St. Brown, who didn’t play in Green Bay’s season-opening win at Minnesota, was placed on injured reserve Saturday by the Packers.

Under the new rules set in place for 2020, St. Brown will have to miss three games before he can be activated. There is on limit on how many players can come off IR this season.

More Packers coverage

St. Brown, a sixth-round draft pick in 2018, missed all of last season after being placed on IR with an ankle injury before final cuts. As a rookie, the Notre Dame product had seven catches for 321 yards.

Green Bay made no corresponding move to the 53-man roster.

The Packers did elevate tight end John Lovett and defensive lineman Willington Previlon from the practice squad to Sunday’s active roster. This is Lovett’s second time getting called up for a game. He played one offensive snap and 14 on special teams in Week 1 against the Vikings

In 2020, teams can call up two players per week. Each player can be moved from the practice squad to the active roster and back to the practice squad twice without having to go through waivers. A third time would result in a player going on waivers, where he could be claimed by another team.
