Royals invite 29 non-roster players to big league training camp

The Kansas City Royals have invited 29 non-roster players to major league spring training, including four top prospects.

Among the 29 invitees are shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., the team’s first-round pick in 2019; right-handed pitcher Jackson Kowar (2018 first-rounder); and left-handed pitchers Daniel Lynch (2018 first-rounder) and Asa Lacy (2020 first-rounder).

Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to hold their first workout of the season Feb. 17. The first full-squad workout is scheduled for Feb. 22.
