An iconic moment occurred Friday night in Dallas a current Mavericks superstar paid respects to the most iconic player in franchise history in the most respectful way possible.

With 9:06 left in the 4th quarter of the Mavericks game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Luka Doncic hit Dirk Nowitzki’s legendary turnaround one-legged fadeaway jumpshot over Willy Hernangomez.

But, what made this shot so special is Doncic made the basket while standing over the silhouette of Nowitzki that the Mavericks have added to their home court this season, the silhouette of Dirk hitting that exact same one-legged fadeaway jumpshot.
