Soucy will sit out Thursday night when the Wild take on Colorado on the road, and will be eligible to return for Saturday’s rematch against the Avalanche.

During the first period of Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Arizona, Soucy made unnecessary contact with Garland’s head as he checked him into the boards. Soucy was given a major penalty for the hit.

In 22 contests this season, Soucy has tallied one goal, seven assists (eight points) and 32 penalty minutes.

The Wild’s game against Colorado will be televised Thursday night on FOX Sports North, with “Wild Live” beginning at 7:30 p.m.
