If there’s one thing Fiala knows how to do well it’s score goals. He was on fire with the Minnesota Wild before the season went on hiatus and has picked up right where he left off in Edmonton. He got things started with a goal in the first period of Minnesota’s 3-0 Game 1 win over Vancouver and followed that up with two more scores in the Wild’s 4-3 loss on Tuesday. They say it’s all about getting hot in the NHL playoffs and it looks like Fiala is capable of sparking heat for Minnesota.

Max Kepler, Twins outfielder (⬆️ UP)

What a start to the season for Kepler. We all remember the two bombs he hit in the Twins’ first game against the Chicago White Sox, but in the past week he batted .368 with three doubles and a home run, bringing his season total up to three. He managed to draw five walks in that span as well, which is always what you want from a leadoff hitter.

Kenta Maeda, Twins pitcher (⬆️ UP)

How great has Kenta Maeda been with the Twins so far? His first outing against Chicago was impressive and he was even better against the Cleveland Indians on Saturday. In that game he pitched six scoreless innings with six strikeouts while allowing just one walk and one hit. It is hard to pitch much better than that.

Rich Hill, Twins pitcher (⬇️ DOWN)

Hill was recently put on the 10-day injured list due to back soreness and shoulder fatigue. It could be more of a precautionary move to make sure the 40-year-old pitcher is around later, but it is something to keep an eye on.

Minnesota Twins, (⬆️ UP)

First American League team to nine wins? Not bad, not bad at all. Minnesota has the look of a complete roster a has been able to win many ways, whether it be a pitcher’s duel or a slugfest.

Napheesa Collier, Lynx guard (⬆️ UP)

 Fresh off her great rookie season, Collier has had an excellent week with the Lynx in the Wubble. She finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds (shooting 9-16) in Minnesota’s 83-81 win over Chicago and in the Lynx’s 78-69 win over the Connecticut Sun she shot 7-for-7 from the floor to record 17 points and nine boards. Think about it this way, she only missed seven shots in two games. Talk about efficiency

Rashod Bateman, former Gophers receiver (⬆️ UP)

Yes, losing Bateman is not ideal for the Gophers’ on-field success in 2020, but it’s tough to blame him for opting out at this point in time considering his draft status. Congratulations on an excellent career with Minnesota, Mr. Bateman!
