Blues to welcome, honor front-line workers at first homestand

The St. Louis Blues are saying “thank you” to front-line workers by allowing a limited number of them to be among the few people in Enterprise Center for the first homestand of the season.

The team will honor front-line workers for their heroic work during the coronavirus pandemic with a special dedication prior to puck drop at the home opener Jan. 18 against the San Jose Sharks. The invited health care professionals and first responders will sit in socially distanced seating pods throughout the plaza level.

The homestand continues Jan. 20 against the Sharks and Jan. 23 and 24 against the Los Angeles Kings.

“It’s good news for everyone that Blues hockey is back home at Enterprise Center,” said Chris Zimmerman, Blues president of business operations/CEO. “We are proud to welcome this group of local heroes as our guests to the arena as a way to express our admiration and appreciation for their selfless work to keep the St. Louis area healthy and safe.”

The only other people allowed to attend the games at the start of the season are families and friends of Blues players, hockey staff, team employees and essential personnel.

It has not been determined when ticket sales to the general public might begin. In the meantime, fans can buy cardboard cutouts of themselves (and family members and pets) for placement in seats at the arena. Part of the proceeds will go to Blues for Kids. Purchases can be made at stlouisblues.com/fans.
